Our Success Statistics: Dental Implants

Dental implants are an excellent, effective, and long lasting alternative to missing teeth. Dental implants are generally superior to bridge work and dentures; often improving the patient’s oral health in a significant matter regardless of the patient’s age. Dr. Silberg, an award winning dentist, has been successfully placing dental implants into patients with a 99% success rate since 1984. You can take a look at numerous statistics below for our dental implants, but to summarize: out of over 4,000 dental implants that have been issued, less than 200 of them were recalled for various reasons.

Ask About Dental Implants

Yes No

If you’re still on the fence about getting dental implants, remember that you can try them out for a test drive. You can try out your custom made dental implants for a 45-day period. During that time, you should be able to notice a remarkable difference in your quality of life as dental implants drastically improve your ability to eat, chew, speak, and smile normally. If you end up happy with your dental implants, you can keep them for your lifetime. If you’re not, you can return them and have them removed long with your surgical fee returned.

Reasons that the implants were removed

Reason Number
Smoking 29
Infections 47
Bite trauma 3
Poor Healing 27
Poor Bone 29
Short Implants 2
Implant Surfaces 27
1st stage healing failure 49
Implant Fracture 9
Unknown Reasons 15
Total 237

In some cases, multiple reasons existed, but only one reason was assigned.

In more than half of the cases, the removal of the first implant was followed by the successful replacement on the second attempt.

1% of the implants were lost and not replaced.

Over the years manufacturing issues have sometimes created implant surfaces that have contributed to implant failures.

In 2007, seven old style implants were removed from 4 patients that got infected. They were placed in the early 1990's. They were not replaced.
