Meet the Staff
Denise
Denise was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. She moved to Pittsburgh with her daughters in 1988 where she began her dental career assisting in the orthodontic field. She worked in orthodontics for five years before accepting a position with Dr. Silberg as a receptionist in 1996. Denise has the smiling voice that patients love to hear when they call the office.
Karen
Karen is our Financial Coordinator. She oversees all of our patients financial and insurance activities.
Karen was raised in Robinson Township along with two other siblings. She attended Montour High School, Parkway West Technical School and Chatham College. In the health care field for over twenty-five years, she has had the privilege of being mentored by some of Pittsburgh’s premier dentists. This experience lead the way to accepting the position of Financial Coordinator with Dr. Silberg.
This position provided not only the advantage of sharing her skills, but the opportunity to advance into new areas in dentistry. She works with an extraordinary team to provide our patients with the diamond touch customer-service approach.
Karen spends her leisure time with her husband, daughter, three grandsons, and two Bischon Frise dogs. In addition, she is an avid reader as well as a theatre and movie goer.
Pam
Pamela O’Toole began her career in the dental field 15 years ago in a Prosthodontist’s specialty practice. She has since then also worked in general and restorative dentistry. She received her Dental Assistant certification in March 1987. In February 1991 she received a Certified Dental Radiology certification. In November 1999 she joined Dr. Silberg’s staff. She currently functions as Dr. Silberg’s surgical assistant. Patient’s know Pam for her warmth and gentility.
While not working, Pamela belongs to the Pittsburgh Ski Club. She also enjoys golfing, working out and spending time with family and friends.
Tina
Tina is our Implant Treatment Coordinator. Her main roles involve coordinating all of the events and communications that need to occur with our implant patients and their referring offices during implant therapy.
Tina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she began her dental career in 1992. Tina has been a part of Dr. Silberg’s team since 1994. She worked with Dr. Silberg as his surgical assistant and in 2005 moved into the position of Implant Treatment Coordinator.
Tina prides herself in building incredible patient relationships. She makes herself accessible to our patients to help educate them about the benefits of dental implants and offers genuine care for their dental and emotional needs.
Tina enjoys spending time with her husband, baby boy and yellow Labrador retriever.
Betsy
Betsy Franz has been involved in dentistry for over 20 years. She began her career as a dental assistant, after graduating from a small dental assisting school in the Pittsburgh Area. She worked with a general dentist for several years until she discovered that dental hygiene was her passion. The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine accepted Betsy into their Dental Hygiene Program in 1985. While attending Pitt, she became the President of the Student Dental Hygiene Association. In 1988, she graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene Education. She has been practicing dental hygiene for over 16 years. “I enjoy working with my hands and helping people learn more about their teeth. Dental Hygiene is a great career for me.”
“In September 2002, I joined Dr. Silberg’s dental team. Dr. Silberg has provided me with a wonderful career with state of the art dental equipment and the latest dental education and techniques! Our dental hygiene department is very unique. I have a wonderful opportunity to provide the best dental hygiene care in the world. With the newest piece of equipment added to our arsenal, we can use the Perioscope to see under the gum line to help eliminate disease and create health. This is a great alternative to other forms of periodontal therapy. We take pride in providing state of the art care to our patients.”
Lisa
Lisa is our Professional Relations Coordinator. Her main functions include coordinating all of the professional relations with our referring offices and she manages all of the logistics for the Discovery Study Club.
Lisa previously worked for UPMC Development Office and FORE Systems in customer relations.
In Lisa’s spare time, she drives her kids to all of their activities as well as volunteering at their school. Her favorite food is milk chocolate and she loves all kinds of music! Lisa resides in Sewickley with her husband and two children.
Gina
Gina’s main role is to coordinate all of the communications functions for our office.
She joined the team in November of 2006 and enjoys managing all of the written communications from our office.
Gina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Community College of Allegheny County and obtained her Associate’s Degree. She attended Community College of Beaver County and received her Certificate in Medical Transcription.
She married her high school sweetheart in August of 2000. She gave birth to her daughter Ava in July of 2002. She and her family live in Hopewell Township in Beaver County. She also enjoys working out, jogging, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
